The Latest In Carbide Endmill Designs In A Lengthy And Successful Family From Iscar

Manufacturers and die & mold shops can abolish chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree carbide endmill. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern annihilates harmonic vibration, the foremost source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, users also report prolonged edge life due to reduced chatter. The chatter-free ability is available in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's MULTI-MASTER replaceable-tip line. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for MULTI-MASTER tips. These new endmills are ideal for lower power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide construction can handle full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capability on the replaceable-tip version is more restrained since the active length is shorter. In full slotting applications on alloy steel, the solid carbide version conveniently handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.

FINISHRED - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills

Iscar is introducing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a revolutionary solid carbide endmill family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a blending of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more quickly and efficiently than conventional endmills. Nonetheless, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. Consequently, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill has to be used in order to obtain a flat surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and necessity of maintaining two endmill types in the inventory.

Features of the Finishred Endmills:

The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature 4 flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.

The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially farther from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes remove the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a smooth surface finish.

The tool is fully capable and enables running at rough machining parameters, resulting in finish surface quality.

The unique tool design lessens vibration at high load applications.

The tool generates short and long chips simultaneously. This chip mixture is evacuated more easily than each individual chip type, an exceptional solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.

The Finishred is also available with the Multi-Master indexable milling head option which combines the Finishred features with the advantage of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the wide range of shank and extension choices are available for the Multi-Master milling heads.

A single tool replaces the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore lowering stock.

Tool change and setup time can be eliminated.

An extra tool position is acquired on the machine

New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for High Metal Removal Rates

ISCAR is introducing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The brand new endmills are available with three and 4 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with downsized neck diameter, which enable machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting feature and force distribution can be used very efficiently on low power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge features flat peaks which leave a better surface finish, in comparison to the current rougher carbide endmill. The ECP endmills are recommended for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well. All of the preliminary tests conducted at several customers' locations showed superb results.

Many Developments Have Expanded Iscar's Line Of Indexable Endmills For Expanded Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.

A Couple Of The Several Advancements In Carbide Inserts Coming From Iscar From Over The Last Decade
Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance.

Iscar Recently Made Public Many New Lines To Extend Their Family Of Milling Cutters
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Iscar Adds Their Most Recent Creations To A Long Line Of Prospering Hole Generating Solutions
Iscar recently released several different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These new products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their experience Iscar has come up with new and innovative ways to increase productivity for the end user.

Some Of Advancements In Carbide Inserts Provided By Iscar Over The Past Decade
Iscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts.
