How To Illustrate An Automobile On Paper: Extremely Simple And Expert Quality Drawing

Creating illustrations of autos can be done on the PC or on paper. While more people like to use the PC, there're still others who like to use ordinary pencil and paper. Yes, even with the kind of technology we have today, there are still artists and artist wannabes who prefer to do it the old fashioned means. Anyway, when you wish to draw a car manually, it's extremely critical to take note of material quality. You must have the right kind of pencils and papers. If your paper is very thin, you could accidentally tear it while erasing. Alternatively, if your pencil is very dark, you could have a difficult time erasing your sketches; and your output will be messy. Nonetheless, here are the procedures on easy methods to draw a car on paper to aid you get started.

1. Use a ruler to draw a line at the bottom of your paper. This will serve as the ground on which the auto will stand. Above such line, draw a few circles to represent the wheels. These wheels must be about 2 in. apart.

2. Next, draw reference lines for the roof and body. Illustrate a few lines above the circles. One will stand for the car's middle part where the windows will end; and the other will represent the car's roof.

3. Create the body of the auto. To do this, you must draw 2 vertical lines on every circle's left side. They must stretch across the body, roof, and ground to make a rectangle. Inside this rectangle, draw two more lines that stretch out from the middle line to the roof. The one on the right side must finish at the exact point where the vertical line and the middle of the rectangle meet. The one on the left, on the other hand, must not touch the middle line. Instead, it must cross the vertical line on the left. You will, then, have an outline of the auto's body. Next, draw a few small vertical lines beside the wheels. The line on the left will serve as the auto's trunk, while the line on the right will serve as the bonnet line. Join these lines to the wheels to have a full auto outline.

4. Erase all needless reference lines to shape the car. Then, use a dark pencil, preferably a 2B or an HB, to draw the higher trunk and the low bonnet shapes. You should also draw a line between the wheels to function the chassis line.

5. Draw windows, wipers, windshields, and other details. To successfully draw these, you may use an auto model or photograph for reference. Don't forget the details to the back bumper and bonnet. Draw the back lights and front lights. Also, draw a rear view mirror and door handles.

6. Draw the wheels. Emphasize the 2 circles that you've drawn before by using a dark pencil. Shade them, and add up more details. Sketch some spokes and rims.

7. Complete your drawing. Use a black marker or pen to trace the auto's final outline. Then, use pencils to offer dark and light hues to the tires, spokes, and bumpers. Scrutinize your final output. Add more shading or details if necessary.

Take note of the above suggestions, and draw a car like the specialists do!
